"Donde se oculta el sol" (Where the sun hides) is a reserve in Villagarzón with interpretive trails of about two kilometres leading to two waterfalls of the Sardinas stream. The first, "Mohano" (jaguar man in the Inga language), has a drop of about 18 metres; the second, "Wakana" (cry of the monkey), forms its own pools.
The Inga names recall the Indigenous roots of the land. The interpretive route makes it especially valuable for understanding the relationship between the jungle and the local culture.
How to get there
Via the Mocoa–Villagarzón road to the reserve area, then the interpretive trails to the waterfalls. Reached by motorbike or transport.
